WELCOME
TO CHILDREN'S VILLAGE!
Children's Village
Child Development Center provides a year round arts enriched day program
for children ages 3 months to 5 years. Our sunny, state-of-the-art Facility
in the SOMA section of San Francisco consists of 7 classrooms, 3 play
yards, and ample outdoor gardens. With help from the Low Income Investment
Fund, Miriam and Peter Haas Foundation, and the Mayor’s Office of
Community Development, Children’s Village is able to offer a beautiful
environment with a wealth of materials.
Our exceptional space
is home to a committed staff of professionally trained early childhood
educators. The bond our teachers form with each child extends to include
the whole family. Parents are partners; active participation is encouraged.
Together the families, staff and children create a supportive, inclusive
community that is expressive of the eclectic quality and diversity of
the Bay Area. Nine languages are represented, as are adoptive, gay, lesbian
and one or more parent families.
Children’s Village hours of operation are 7:30 am to 6:00 pm with
pre-established holidays and teacher preparation week. Breakfast, hot
lunch and snack are served; formula and baby food are provided for infants.
Children are enrolled on a first-come-first-served basis according to
our waiting list priorities. Preference will be given to; children from
families struggling with homelessness, children in the care of Child Protective
Services, siblings of children already enrolled, children with disabilities
(Up to 10% of children enrolled,) children from low-income families (Up
to 53% of children enrolled.) Limited scholarship opportunities are available
to private pay families. Children’s Council voucher recipients are
encouraged to apply. As of August 2006 Children's Village is a Preschool
for All Site.
At
Children’s Village we are proud to socialize, educate, and inspire
136 young children yearly.
