Bequests & Deferred Giving

Your help lives on. The simplest way to contribute? Make an outright bequest—of a specific amount of money, securities, or property—in your Will or Living Trust. It's easy to add a bequest to your current Will through a Codicil (Amendment).

Your suggested wording is: "I give, devise and bequest to Catholic Charities CYO of the Archdiocese of SF ___________ (state the percentage of estate or residue, sum of money, or describe property).

Other ways to donate:

  • Charitable Remainder Trusts & Charitable Gift Annuities. If you've been left a trust, you can easily set this up to provide you and another person income for life, then give a deferred gift of remaining assets to Catholic Charities CYO. Depending on the type of Trust or Annuity established, you would be entitled to an income or estate tax deduction.

  • Life Insurance. Name Catholic Charities CYO as beneficiary of an old life insurance policy, and capitalize on possible tax benefits.
