Creating change through empathic listening, thoughtful dialogue. Many times our perception of a life event is actually one of the biggest challenges we face. Some experience a feeling of "stuckness" in life: a sense of not being able to move forward, due to a constant retreat to familiar behaviors and disabling emotions. Others seek our behavioral healthcare services to heal addictions or take the next step in their recovery process. And many of our older clients suffer from grief as a result of losing a partner. Sharing their lives in group counseling creates a space for them to look at their futures with gratitude and renewed energy. Individual, child, family, or group counseling can help clients learn skills to empower themselves. Resolve challenges. And gain greater enjoyment from life.

San Francisco Counseling

With offices at St. Gabriel's and St. John's Parishes, our San Francisco Counseling program helps individuals, couples, and families communicate to overcome barriers and open up possibilities. Grief counseling is this counseling site's specialty. Therapeutic retreats, support groups, and holiday workshops aid clients in processing loss—through interaction with others who are also grieving. In addition, this program offers clergy members Ministry of Consolation trainings and Beauty of the Funeral Rites workshops.

Marin County Counseling

Our Marin County Counseling program is unique in that it not only offers counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups, but it also places on-site counselors at public schools, helping children and teenagers cope with the struggles of life. On the other end of the spectrum, this program features intensive psychiatric case management for clients, as well as a Psychiatric Consultation Clinic that assists clients in best practices for managing their behavioral medications. Too, our special talents in working with older adults enable us to establish and maintain parish-based grief support groups. Spanish counselors are on-site. The diversity and excellence demonstrated in this program have earned it the right to become an intensive training ground for new therapists.
