Education Services Every client who comes to St. Vincent’s is placed in an academic setting according to his capacity and need. If the client has an Individual Educational Plan calling for placement in a nonpublic school, he will probably attend Timothy Murphy School, a nonpublic school on the grounds of St. Vincent’s. TMS, as it is commonly known, is a fully accredited nonpublic school accepting placements through the Marin County Office of Education as well as other school districts throughout the state. The school mainly serves the boys of St. Vincent’s, but there are also boys from the surrounding communities in attendance. TMS serves all elementary, middle and high school students. In addition, TMS operates a classroom on the grounds of the nearby Terra Linda High School. For a video clip, you can click here. If the client has an IEP which states that he is eligible for other Specialized Educational services but not a nonpublic school, and the referral agent does not want him to be considered for a nonpublic school, St. Vincent’s will refer him to the Marin SELPA and the local school district for the appropriate placement. There are local elementary, middle and high schools very close to St. Vincent’s, and many clients either start school there or make enough behavioral gains so that they can transfer to one of these schools.
