St. Vincent’s Foster Family Agency Welcome to St. Vincent's Foster Family Agency! St. Vincent’s Foster Family Agency (SVFFA) offers therapeutic foster care and Intensive Treatment Foster Care services to Bay Area girls and boys from more than seven counties. We serve approximately 37 children and teens a year. We are a small program with two full-time social workers and one part-time social worker. St.Vincent’s foster parents enjoy weekly support from experienced, responsive social workers, training on recent research and relative laws, and a program designed to support healing through attachment and teamwork. Our goal is to find a permanent home for each child or sibling group, one that is committed to finishing the task of raising each child in an atmosphere of safety, security and love. To that end, we provide the professional social work expertise to properly match youth and family and then to support the placement until the youth has emancipated. We ensure that each youth has at least one permanent adult relationship to help guide them through adulthood. This support consists of many interventions, the most important of which is advocating for the needs of the child and the foster family in the community. We assure that St. Vincent's foster children are properly evaluated at school so that they will receive the most supportive educational opportunities. We use our professional expertise to obtain appropriate medication and psychotherapy for emotional and physical problems. Our goal is that through our intervention, at-risk youth will be enabled to become fully functioning, stable adult members of the community. Click on Common
